How to get Started
Once you have your username and password for the Weebly system (have created your own account), go to www.weebly.com and log in. Do not share your username or password with anyone for any reason.
What is Weebly?
Weebly is a drop-and-go Website Creator. Once we drop the ''elements'' in place, we then edit the element to get it to the way we want it to look.
Now that we've logged into Weebly, what do we do?
Once you have logged into Weebly, your screen will look like this. Since you only have permission to edit CP America's Roller Coast that's all you will have under options. At this point you can do 1 of 2 things.
You can: 1. Edit Website (Make pages or edit pages) 2. View Statistics for the website (Stats) We're going to look at the Stats options first. |
Stats
How to Edit the Site
Going back to the list on the main page there are three options. Edit, Stats, and More. For editing the site, you want to click the edit box.
In the Weebly system, the edit option includes everything from editing the site to being able to add new pages. When you are editing and creating pages for the site, you shouldn't have to add any pages at any time because whatever said page you are doing should already be in the Weebly system. Whether anything is on the page or not is adifferent story- you may be making a page from scratch. |
Selecting a Page
Once you left click the pages button will come up. On the left there is a list of pages. There is also a scrolling option. You want to simply find the page you will be editing. Let's use the Shoot the Rapids page for our example.
|
At the very top of the page there is a settings bar that has the following options on it: Build, Design, Pages. Store and Settings.
You will are only authorized to use the Pages button on those options. Using other options is only permitted by the President and Vice President. |
Now that you have found the Shoot the Rapids page, you want to click on Shoot the Rapids in the left drop down menu.
Once you have clicked Shoot the Rapids you your screen will look like this. The only thing you can click on this screen is save & edit You would follow this procedure for making any page. |
Editing a page-Starting from scratch
Any page you will need to create will be on that list. If it's not see the Vice President of Website Operations.
What the elements do!
All elements are shown as if they are dropped into a blank page.
Basic Elements
Title
Text Boxes
The text box allows you to text. The text box works the same was as the title box. The difference here is that the style of the writing is different. The text box is the element you will use most of the time.
Images
When you want to put a picture in, you drag the image button. When you put them picture in this is what it will look like. To put the picture in the correct box, click on the picture.
This box will come up next. You will get your picture by doing one of the fowling two things. Access by your Documents by clicking My computer and Upload a photo from your computer. After that, you just find where you have your picture(remember must be your own or one of Jake's). The other way you can do it is by clicking on the Image URL tab and a box will come up. You then paste the URL in that box. |
