Flickr Training
What is Flickr?
Flickr is an
image hosting service that holds images for people to search. As of this
printing of Flicker Training Handbook there are 7,563 pictures in Flicker
Database! Wow! That is a lot of pictures!
I began taking pictures in 2012 for my website. I’m still uploading pictures and it takes me a good portion of the winter to get everything up from the previous season. Lets get started!
The web
address for my flicker page is https://www.flickr.com/photos/103847085@N04/
This address you bring you to my basic page to get pictures. The Flicker site is for Staff Use ONLY! You are NOT authorized to give this link to anyone for any reason at any time! Giving out this link is cause for Disciplinary Action including Termination! |
To Search for a particular video
Once on the Flicker Database:
Go up to the very top of the page and in the ‘’search’’ bar type in the item you want to search. Let’s use Mean Streak as an example. Type in Mean Streak in the search bar. After you type in ‘’Mean Streak’’ in the search bar jakehamons’ Photostream will appear at the bottom of the search option. You want to click the option that says jakehamons’ Photostream. Clicking this option will give you the picture you want to look up. I have tagged every one of my pictures. Clicking Search Everyone’s Pictures or just clicking the enter button will bring everyone’s pictures. Those pictures are NOT ok to use!!!!! If you are going to use pictures on either the site or Social Media you MUST use either my pictures from Flickr or pictures that you have physically taken yourself! NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! |
After you click the jakehamons’ Photostream the pictures you
are looking for will come up. In our case Mean Streak.
Now that Ive found the picture I need. what do I do with it?
To use the picture you need to either download the picture ( Social Media) or get the hyperlink (website)
In either cause you need to click on the picture to show the entire image.
In either cause you need to click on the picture to show the entire image.
Then you need to click the bottom of the picture and these options will show up.
Downloading
Let’s say
you’re going to download the video. Click on the area and these options will
come up.
After you click on the arrow you can click the option you want to use. It is best to use the original size because it works best. If for some reason on Flickr I had to rotate the video then download the large size. Once you click on the option you want the picture will come up again. Once you get there, right click the picture and save it. |
Linking
Let’s say you’re going to link to the video. Click on the arrow and these options will come up.
After you click on the arrow, you can click the option you want to use. It is best to use the original size because it works best. If for some reason on Flickr I had to rotate the video, then download the large size. Once you Click on that, the picture will come up. Right click the image. Then an option menu will come up. Click on where it says Properties.
In the middle, it says Address: URL just simply copy and paste that link and you have the picture you want. |
Now that is your Flickr training! If you have any questions please ask Jake! Brandon can also help with this!m
